About the Author

Rodger Fernandez

Dr Rodger Fernandez is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Victoria University, College of Law and Justice. He is the Chair of the Law Institute of Victoria, Advisory Committee to the Specialisation Board (Immigration Law). He currently practices as a barrister and solicitor in the Supreme Court of Victoria and High Court of Australia, and as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of New South Wales. He is a Law Institute of Victoria Accredited Specialist (Immigration Law) and is listed in Best Lawyers for Immigration Law in Australia.

 

Murray Gerkens

Murray Gerkens has had extensive experience in all areas of the legal profession including practice, academia and the judiciary. He has practiced as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Courts of Victoria, New South Wales and the High Court of Australia, served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Victoria University, College of Law and Justice and held various judicial positions including. serving as a Senior Magistrate with the Victorian Magistrate’s Court and on various Disciplinary Boards and Tribunals including as the Principal Member and Member Administrator of the Refugee Review Tribunal.

 

Sherene Ozyurek

Sherene Ozyurek is an Adjunct Fellow at Victoria University, College of Law and Justice. She is a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria and the High Court of Australia and is a Law Institute of Victoria Accredited Specialist (Immigration Law).
