This book deals with the measures which international and European law and policy makers have sought to put in place to deal with the threat of financial institutions failing, including enchanced supervision, early intervention and so called 'living wills'.

Measures such as 'bail-out' (transfers to bridge banks and temporary public ownership) and 'bail-in' (contingent capital) are discussed. There is also a chapter on the resolution powers of the US Federal Deposit Corporation, including discussion of the impact of the Dodd Frank Act.
