What's new for 2015?

A key issue this year has been the creation of separate tax regimes for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland which are fully covered in this title.  Other developments that we are aware of so far include:

  • Complete rethink of the SDLT regime
  • Changes to NI contributions around apprentices and avoidance
  • Introduction of the direct recovery of debts by HMRC
  • Non-residents to pay capital gains tax on disposals of UK residential property
  • Strengthening of the regime for the disclosure of tax avoidance schemes
  • A new diverted profits tax, targeted at multinationals
