Butterworths Employment Law Handbook is an indispensable reference source of fully-updated statutory, non-statutory and European materials relating to employment law in England and Wales and Scotland. Cross-references to Harvey on Industrial Relations and Employment Law are included, providing a convenient reference tool for use in tribunals. The Handbook, now in its twentieth edition, is published annually.

Part 1 contains over 70 statutes relating to employment law including the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992, the Employment Tribunals Act 1996, the Employment Rights Act 1996, the National Minimum Wage Act 1998, and the Equality Act 2010. It also includes the relevant provisions from statutes covering a variety of ancillary topics such as company law and insolvency, entitlement to social security benefits, data protection, patent law and pensions.

Part 2 contains more than 110 statutory instruments made under the statutes contained in Part 1. These include the Employment Tribunals (Constitution and Rules of Procedure) Regulations 2004 and all the relevant Orders and Regulations made under the Equality Act 2010.

Part 3 is European material, covering relevant Treaty provisions and EU Regulations, Directives and Recommendations.

Part 4 consists of Statutory Codes of Practice and the Statutory Guidance on the meaning of disability.

Part 5 (Miscellaneous Materials) includes international materials, Practice Directions, Practice Statements and non-statutory Codes of Practice.
