    • Section 64 amended, to create new doxxing offences.
    • New Part 9A (ss 66C-66S) introduced to confer on the Privacy Commissioner various investigative and enforcement powers in respect of the doxxing and related offences.
  • New cases added, including:
    • Tsang Po Mann v Tsang Ka Kit [2021] 1 HKLRD 1301, dealing with damages for compensating a data subject for injury to feelings caused by breach of the data protection principles.

About the Author

Principal Lecturer, Faculty of Law, The University of Hong Kong Stefan HC Lo

Stefan was appointed to the Civil Division of the Department of Justice in 2009 to advise on the Companies Ordinance Rewrite. He was previously Assistant Professor at the School of Law, City University of Hong Kong, where he taught company and commercial law. He has researched and published widely in corporate and securities law in textbooks, treatises, and local and international journals. Stefan is currently Principal Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, The University of Hong Kong
