About the Author

Spears, D

Dr Donna Spears is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Law at the University of Wollongong. She has been working in criminal law for over 20 years, including a period as Research Director at the New South Wales Judicial Commission, practitioner, and sessional teacher at the University of New South Wales and the University of Sydney. Her primary field of research is sentencing.

Hickie, T

Dr Thomas Hickie is a Judge of the High Court of Fiji. As a member of the New South Wales Bar, he practised in the area and taught at the University of New South Wales and Macquarie University. In 2005, he was the joint recipient of the University of New South Wales Vice-Chancellor's Sessional Teaching Award.
