John Carter holds a Personal Chair in Commercial Law at the University of Sydney and since 1992 he has acted as a consultant to Freehills. He is the author of several highly regarded works in contract and restitution and has taught contract law for 25 years. He has an international reputation and has published in many leading journals and held numerous international appointments and is the General Editor of the Journal of Contract Law.

Elisabeth Peden:The leading Australian scholar on the role of good faith in contract law, Elisabeth Peden is Associate Professor of Law at the University of Sydney. She is also a consultant to Freehills and joint editor of the Commercial Law Quarterly and Book Review Editor of the Journal of Contract Law. She is the author of Good Faith in the Performance of Contracts and numerous articles on aspects of contract law.

The pre-eminent author of the international best seller, Assignment of Contractual Rights (2006), Gregory Tolhurst is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Sydney, having previously spent some time in practice as a solicitor. He is also a consultant to Freehills and a Director of the Parsons Centre for Commercial Law, University of Sydney as well as joint editor of the Commercial Law Quarterly and the Associate Editor of the Journal of Contract Law.
