Reviews:

I suspect that experienced practitioners will find most help in the chapters on grounds for appeal. I found the section assessing recent jurisprudence on appealing against findings of fact particularly interesting. The section on failure to give reasons provides a detailed treatment of a complex issue. Further guidance is given on the distinction between questions of law and questions of fact, with specific examples from commonly occurring situations in contract and tort.

This is the first edition of ‘Civil Appeals: Practice and Procedure’. It deserves success. I will certainly keep it to hand when advising on appeals in the future.
