Ir Harbans Singh is a registered Professional Engineer, Chartered Engineer, Arbitrator, Mediator and Conciliator. Though not in active practice as a lawyer, Ir Harbans Singhs continues pursuing his interest in construction/building law through conducting courses and seminars, providing contract advisory services and publication of papers in technical journals on this subject.

The engineering and construction industry has been growing by leaps and bounds over the last two decades as Malaysia moves towards achieving its goal of being a developed country.

In the process, a whole array of contracts of different variety and nature have been encountered by the local engineering and construction fraternity with their attendant problems and limitations.

In view of the above, the Engineering & Construction Contracts Management Handbook series aims to fill the lacuna that exists in the local engineering and construction industry, providing guidance to all those involved in the management of construction contracts in Malaysia and neighbouring countries.

The first of the series, Engineering & Construction Contracts Management: Law & Principles serves as an introduction to the subject and lays down the fundamentals of the law of contract. It also covers common forms of conditions of contract employed locally, various principal types of contract and the interpretation as well as construction of these documents.
