First published in 1927, Gloag and Henderson is quite simply the work of reference on the law of Scotland. It is unique in providing the complete Scots private law library in one volume, with no other single legal title in Scotland offering the same kind of coverage. From the outset it was distinguished by the clarity and accessibility of its coverage. The development of Scots law into the twenty-first century can be traced through succeeding editions of the textbook.

In addition to the usual up-to-date and comprehensive coverage of Scots private and commercial law, this edition considers the effects so far of Brexit in the field. New legislation and the most significant case law are fully considered. There is also a completely new analysis of the effects of illegality in contract and unjustified enrichment in the light of Patel v Mirza [2015] UKSC 42.
