About the Author

Alan Bennett is an Australian solicitor and a lecturer in Customs Law at The University of Sydney. He has specialised in international trade law for 35 years. He writes for CCH Australia, and edits the CCH Australian Customs Law and Practice. Formerly a partner at KPMG Sydney, Alan is currently working on a range of titles that specialise on international trade, these titles will soon be published by CCH. As a member of the IMF legal team based in Washington, Alan is also currently writing the customs laws for countries seeking help from the IMF, and his current assignment is drafting law for the Caribbean community. Alan’s degree of Master of Laws was conferred by the University of Technology, Sydney.
