Mirko Bagaric is a professor of law at Deakin University and has written extensively in the area of practical moral philosophy in Australia and overseas, both in books and journals.

Keith Akers obtained his PhD, which focused on the law and philosophy of animal experimentation, from Deakin University in 2007.

He has published widely on animal issues, and is a member of several animal protection groups.
