Details

The International Encyclopaedia of Laws is a response to the need for comprehensive, up-to-date and readily available information about the major areas of law as they relate to other countries. This series of loose-leaf publications is divided into 13 different major fields of law, each consisting of a combination of national and international monographs.

This volume provides information on criminal law. When completed about 60 national monographs will be included, each consisting of about 200 pages. A standard general outline will be followed to facilitate consultation and comparison. The national monographs start with a general introduction about the characteristics of the country, give an overview of the history of criminal law and criminal justice and explain the actual situation. The second part is devoted to substantive criminal law.

The third part is focused on criminal procedure and the last of the monographs concerns the execution and extinction of the sanctions.;The international monographs relate to, among other things, the European Convention of Human Rights, the jurisprudence of the European Court and the European Commission of Human Rights, the mutual assistance treaties in criminal matters, and the criminal law aspects of the EC.
