Legal Aspects of Business is a comprehensive book designed especially for the post graduate students of business management. It explains the various legal aspects of business with the help of numerous examples, figure and cases from the Indian context.

The book is divided in to 6 parts. Part I introduces students to Business Jurisprudence. The following part focuses on Commercial Jurisprudence. This part discusses, in detail, the most important of the business laws, namely The Indian Contract Act (1872). It goes on to discuss the other important acts such as The Sale of Goods Act (1930), The Negotiable Instrument Act (1881), among others. Part III explores the aspects of Financial Jurisprudence. It discusses the various laws related to finance and banking. Part 4 looks at Labour and Industrial Jurisprudence and discusses laws related to wages, workers' social security and industrial relations. Part 5 on Aspects of new economy and jurisprudence discusses laws related to information and communication, intellectual property rights and end environment protection. The book concludes with Part 6 on Judicial and Social Jurisprudence.

About the Author

Daniel Albuquerque

Daniel Albuquerque, formerly Professor, Goa Institute of Management, Goa, is currently a visiting professor of management at various business schools. He obtained his doctorate from and also taught at the Julius Maximilian University, Wuerzburg, Germany, and is a member of the Franz Brentano Research Centre of the same university. He is also a member of the World Ethics Center of the University of Jena, Germany. Over a career spanning three decades, Prof. Albuquerque has worked with several academic institutions and corporate organizations in India and abroad. He is the author of OUP title Business Ethics. Besides, he has also authored a number of books, several scientific papers, and freelance articles.
