Macdonald's Immigration Law and Practice with 2nd Supplements 9th Edition

Since the publication of the first edition in 1983 Macdonald's Immigration Law & Practice has established itself as the standard textbook in the field and is recognised by the legal profession as the most authoritative text on immigration law.

• The Second Supplements to Volumes 1 & 2 were published in September 2018
• The First Supplements to Volumes 1 & 2 were published in May 2017
• Volume 1 was published in February 2015
• Volume 2 was published in December 2014

The ninth edition has been fully revised to contain all the latest SIs, and recent case law, including decisions from Strasbourg, the House of Lords and the Court of Appeal as well as the latest immigration appeals Procedure Rules, Practice Direction and CPR.

Please note that only Volume 2 will be published in December 2014. Volume 1 will follow in February 2015. As Ian Macdonald QC explains below, we wanted to ensure that the book is as useful and current as it can possibly be.

The timing of the commencement orders with the transitional provisions contained in them has meant that we have felt obliged to delay the publication of Volume 1 so that we could properly revise some of our chapters in the light of these developments.

Immigration law is such a moving tapestry of change that it is in fact very difficult not to be already out of date on or soon after our publication date on at least one topic. But we felt that the changes to the powers of removal and to the ambit of appeal rights are of such importance that we needed to be as up to date as possible.
