About the Author

Patrick Chan

Dr Chan is a faculty member at the Nanyang Technological University and an adjunct faculty at SIM University (UniSIM) who has specific expertise in behavioural finance and neuro-economics. To date he has taught personal financial planning to more than 2,500 adults.He is also a registered financial consultant for personal wealth management and a certified financial educator who holds fellowship membership with various professional bodies including the Chartered Insurance Institute, U.K. His current research in risk management and insurance includes several paper presentations at overseas conferences in the United States and Asia as well as published papers in professional journals. He has also co-authored four books on personal financial planning, insurance and risk management. Dr Chan has previously served a term as the pesident of the Risk and Insurance Management Association of Singapore (RIMAS). He was a board member of the Asia Pacific Risk and Insurance Association (APRIA) and a member of the Workmen's Compensation Committee for the General Insurance Association of Singapore (GIAS) and the Task Force for Personal Financial Planning for CPA, Australia.
