About the Author

John Dunt became a consultant with Clyde & Co in May 2007 having been a partner with the firm since 1977. He is currently a member of the Joint Cargo Committee working party which has just completed a review of the Institute Cargo Clauses, the standard insurance clauses for carriage of cargo worldwide.

He has acted regulary for insurers at Lloyd’s and for the London Market as well as insurers worldwide advising on marine insurance coverage issues, including, in particular, coverage issues arising in marine cargo insurance. He has over 30 years experience in marine cargo cases including a number of notable English reported cases as well as cases (based on English law) in the Japanese Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.
