He is a widely published author of books and articles on all facets of the industry; he has taught and lectured on both basic and advanced issues in the industry for a number of institutions and organizations; he has acted as a consultant for an impressive array of hotel, motel, and restaurant businesses; and--perhaps most importantly--he has managed hospitality facilities himself.
