Details

Charities are subject to ever increasing regulation and it is essential that those involved in the management of organisations in the sector understand and comply with their obligations.

The ICSA Charities Handbook provides clear and practical guidance on the law, regulation and procedure involved in running a charity. The book covers key areas of governance and compliance such as boards, trustees and officers, the Charity Commission and its requirements, and employment and volunteers. Additional guidance includes setting up and working with various legal entities and structures such CICs, CIOs, industrial and provident societies, and trusts. It reflects the requirements of the Charities Act 2006 and the Companies Act 2006.

• Updated to reflect the forthcoming consolidation of charities legislation into the single Charities Act 2011.

• Broad content in a short and readable form, ideal for smaller charities.

• Combines theory and practice and includes a wide range of checklists, best practice guidance, timetables and sample documents.
