About the Author

Chen Siyuan LL.B. (NUS); LL.M. (Harvard), is an Assistant Professor of Law at SMU specialising in Evidence & Civil Procedure and International Moots. Siyuan graduated from NUS with First Class Honours, the Kwa Geok Choo and Allen & Overy-Shook Lin & Bok scholarships, and prizes for Public Law and Jurisprudence. He has published books and articles locally and internationally, some of which have been cited by the courts. He has headed SMU’s International Moots Programme since 2010, and his mooters have been to the championship fi nal of all major international moots, including the Jessup, Vis, Vis East, Price, and International Criminal Court competitions.

 
Lionel Leo LL.B. (NUS); B.C.L. (Oxford), is a Partner at WongPartnership LLP where he practises civil litigation. He also actively participates in the CLAS scheme, representing accused persons in the State Courts, the High Court, and the Court of Appeal. A recipient of the British Chevening Scholarship and the Crewe Graduate Scholarship, Lionel graduated with First Class Honours from NUS and with Distinction from Oxford, and was the top student in the Law of Evidence in NUS. He has published book chapters and articles on evidence and civil procedure, and has taught part-time at NUS and SMU.
