Details

The Law of Tort in Hong Kong is the first local textbook on tort law. While Hong Kong’s tort law originated in the English common law, England does not always offer good solutions to problems which are unique to Hong Kong. Moreover, much of the law is now statutory and conflicts have arisen between Hong Kong legislation and English case law. This book aims to explain the legal principles of the law of tort through the lens of and with particular reference to Hong Kong cases and legislation.

Leading cases on the law of tort are analysed and relevant legislation examined. The author also discusses Hong Kong socio-economic developments and suggests options for law reform. While most of the topics included in a standard textbook from England or elsewhere in the Commonwealth, this book focuses on typical Hong Kong problems such as nuisance, trespass, occupiers’ and owners’ liability and liability of bank and financial advisers.

This core text is of value and interest to lawyers, law lecturers and students.

Remarks:

Student price in paperback format is available offer to Hong Kong local university students with valid student card info is required.
