The Party Wall Act Explained: A Commentary on the Party Wall Etc. Act 1996 3rd ed

The Party Wall etc. Act 1966 extended legislation and procedures well established in London to the whole of England and Wales.

This 3rd edition of The Party Wall Act Explained - or the Green Book as it is more colloquially known - is a successor to similar commentaries on the London Building Acts produced by The Pyramus and Thisbe Club, the 1st edition published in 1993 and the 2nd in 2008. The Club is a learned society for people interested in party wall matters, with a current membershi of ver 1,200.

The Act has now been with us countrywide (England and Wales) at least for almost 20 years an it was felt that an updated version should be published. A new working party was formed for this purpose. Members views opinions and experiences have been sought and this book tries to deal with the most relevant and common issues that arise when administering the legislation.

The main text of the book takes each section and subsection of the Act in turn and delivers a commentary directly relevant to the interpretation and application of that section or subsection.
