About the Author

Stephan Kinsella

Stephan Kinsella is General Counsel with Applied Optoelectronics, Inc., in Sugar Land, Texas. Before joining AOI, he was a partner in the Intellectual Property Department of Duane Morris LLP. He has taught Computer Law at South Texas College of Law and is the author of numerous articles about intellectual property law, international law, and other topics. He is coauthor of International Investment, Political Risk, and Dispute Resolution: A Practitioner’s Guide (Oxford, 2005) and coeditor of Trademark Practice & Forms(Oceana/Oxford/West 2001-present).

Mr. Kinsella received an LL.M. (international business law) from King’s College London–University of London, his J.D. from the Louisiana State University Law Center, and M.S. and B.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Louisiana State University. Admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, he is also licensed to practice law in Texas, Louisiana (inactive), and Pennsylvania (inactive).

 

Teresa C. Tucker
 
Teresa C. Tucker, a founding partner of Grossman, Tucker, Perreault & Pfleger, PLLC, focuses on trademark and copyright matters and counsels businesses and entrepreneurs in selecting, clearing and protecting new trademarks as well as in defending and asserting their trademarks and copyrights in conflict situations.
She has filed thousands of U.S. and foreign trademark applications and has been active in trademark and copyright licensing and litigation. Her clients' fields of business include apparel, computer hardware and software, medical devices, food service, food manufacturing, banking, telecommunications, tools, travel services, publishing, education and hospitality. Terry often works closely with advertising agencies and with general practice attorneys in counseling their clients. Terry's industry experience includes many years as the Marketing Coordinator for Polygram Records' Florida and Puerto Rico territory.
Terry received her B.S. in Marketing/Management from Barry University in 1977, and her J.D. from Franklin Pierce Law Center in 1993. She is a member of the New Hampshire Bar and is admitted to practice in the New Hampshire Federal District Court, the Court of Appeals for First Circuit and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
She is an adjunct professor of law at Franklin Pierce Law Center where she has taught Trademark Registration Practice. Terry has lectured on the subject of trademarks and copyrights and is the author of several published articles directed toward both businesses and the general legal profession. She resides in Bedford, New Hampshire with her family and enjoys writing fiction and travel.
