Colleen Chinlund is a partner in the Chicago office of Arnstein & Lehr LLP. Her practice is concentrated in the areas of estate planning and probate and trust administration. Ms. Chinlund provides comprehensive counseling to help clients protect, preserve, and devise a plan for a tax-efficient distribution of estate assets. Ms. Chinlund has substantial experience representing a broad range of individuals and institutions in connection with their estate planning and administration needs, as well as business succession planning for family-owned and other closely held businesses. A substantial portion of her practice is devoted to administering decedent estates and representing fiduciaries in estate and trust administration and litigation matters.
Scott A. Harshman, a partner at Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP, has extensive experience in tax, trust and estate matters, including probate and trust litigation and administration, wealth transfer planning, income tax planning, corporate and partnership taxation, federal and state tax controversy, business succession planning, and charitable planning. Mr. Harshman is a certified specialist in estate planning and trust and probate law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. He is a member of the Trusts and Estates Section of the California State Bar. Mr. Harshman is recognized as a “Southern California Rising Star” by Los Angeles Magazine and Super Lawyers Magazine, 2010. He is the author of many articles related to estate planning. Mr. Harshman received his LL.M. in taxation from the University of San Diego School of Law, his J.D., cum laude, from Whittier Law School and his B.A. from University of California, Riverside.
Ray J. Koenig III is a member in Clark Hill PC’s Litigation Practice Group in its Chicago office. He practices in the areas of probate litigation, trust litigation, fiduciary litigation, elder law, estate planning, and estate administration, with an emphasis on will, trust, guardianship, and advance directive contests and other fiduciary litigation. Mr. Koenig has represented individuals, families, financial institutions, medical institutions, and governmental organizations in all areas of his practice. Mr. Koenig has extensive trial, appellate, and mediation experience in state and federal courts. He is frequently appointed guardian ad litem and defense counsel by judges in guardianship cases, and has been appointed special administrator in probate matters. Mr. Koenig has also been appointed Illinois Special Assistant Attorney General in numerous matters. Mr. Koenig is very involved in the communities to which he belongs. He is frequently published in professional, scholarly, and community publications. He is also a frequent speaker at seminars and events for the community, his peers, and other professionals. Mr. Koenig is also proud to serve on the boards of multiple charitable organizations. Mr. Koenig earned his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University. While a student at DePaul University College of Law, Mr. Koenig was a member of Moot Court and took first place in the all-school Negotiations Competition.
For more than twenty years, Timothy W. Ridley, a partner at Meagher & Geer PLLP, has focused his practice on the preparation of wills, trusts and estate plans for individuals—as well as related litigation. Mr. Ridley has been named a Super Lawyer® and is listed as a Top 40 Estate Planning and Probate Law Attorney by Minnesota Law & Politics magazine. After consulting with clients to determine their personal and financial goals and objectives, Mr. Ridley helps them structure the estate plan that best meets their needs. Robert J. Selsor is chairman of the Fiduciary and Estate Litigation Practice Group at Polsnelli Shughart PC, a national law firm with offices from Phoenix to New York, with a concentration of lawyers in the Midwest. Mr. Selsor is a fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and is a widely published author and lecturer. A former Fulbright Scholar, Mr. Selsor is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Law. His practice is divided between plaintiff and defense work, and he is also active as a mediator and arbitrator in the trust and probate area.
