Colinvaux's Law of Insurance offers a concise but thorough and reliable overview of insurance law.

Taking you through the essential components of insurance law in the UK, it examines:

  • the contract of insurance
  • insurance parties
  • the parties involved
  • special types of insurance contracts including marine, accident and motor vehicle

The new 2nd supplement to the 9th edition brings your mainwork fully up to date.

The new supplements covers all significant developments in the law of insurance since the publication of the last mainwork in 2010.

  • The decided cases discussed range across all topics, so most chapters have been updated significantly
  • A number of authorities from other common law jurisdictions have been added, most importantly those resulting from the Christchurch earthquakes in 2010 and 2011
  • The various proposals for reform by the English and Scottish Law Commissions are discussed extensively
  • The chapter on regulation has been redrawn to take account of the changes made by the Financial Services Act 2012
  • A new section on the history of insurance law has been added
