About the Author

Whilst having ready access to the worldwide technical expertise of Mazars, our professional team is also locally supported by our technical consultant, Tan Liong Tong, who is well respected in Malaysia as an IFRS expert and a trainer/researcher and author in the field of accounting standards.

Liong Tong holds a Diploma in Agriculture, Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness and a Master of Business Administration. He is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and an Associate Fellow of the Institute of Bankers Malaysia.

With over twenty years of lecturing and research experience behind him, Liong Tong is actively involved in the research and development of Malaysian Accounting Standards. He is a regular speaker and course leader at public seminars and workshops on accounting and finance, and conducts training for Bursatra Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Bursa Malaysia Training Sdn Bhd). To date Liong Tong has conducted over 300 seminars and workshops on MASB Standards to not less than 8,000 participants.

He has published widely in journals and is also an author of many accounting books.Liong Tong plays a significant role in our staff training programme, particularly in the area of IFRS training.
