This is an OHS/Healthcare book on managing risks for healthcare workers. It is both a reference text for healthcare professionals and OHS practitioners, and a text book. The authors are recognised and highly respected authorities on this topic. The healthcare industry has specific issues and needs, for example stress in that industry is almost twice the level for the average of all industries in Australia; occupational violence is prevalent, particularly for nurses and other hospital workers; and it has been well documented that back injuries are at a very high level for nurses.

The aims of this book are to:

In one volume it provides a comprehensive consideration of OHS issues in the healthcare industry. It contains contributions from a range of experience OHS in healthcare writers, many of whom are at the top of their field in Australia and internationally· While having a focus relevant to Australia it contains a number of chapters by international writers, making for a book with a truly international focus and market.
