Chee Chuong Sum

Sum Chee Chuong is an associate professor at the Department of Decision Sciences, National University of Singapore. He has a BEng (Hons) degree from the National University of Singapore and holds a PhD in operations management from the University of Minnesota, USA. He is currently the academic director of the NUS MBA programme and was the former director of professional education at the Logistics Institute ' Asia Pacific (TLI-AP). An active consultant and executive trainer, he has serviced private and public organisations such as BaxGlobal, Exel, DHL, Singapore Airlines, IBM, Shell, IKEA, Kaifa (Shenzhen), APP (Indonesia), Singapore Confederation of Industries, Ministry of Health (Singapore), Ministry of Defence (Singapore), Chartered Institute of Transport (Singapore), Singapore Technologies Logistics and SPRING Singapore. He is the winner of the Faculty Educator Award for 2006/07. His current research interests are in the development of operations and supply chain capabilities, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), operations strategy, and global operations management. His research has appeared in leading international journals such as Decision Sciences, Journal of Operations Management, IIE (Trans), European Journal of Operational Research, and Omega. Before joining academia, he worked as an information systems officer in a computer organisation and an engineer in an aerospace company.
