About the Author

G E Dal Pont is a Professor, Faculty of Law, University of Tasmania. He is a graduate of the University of Tasmania (LLD) and the University of Michigan (LLM), and is admitted to practice in New South Wales, as well as a Certified Practising Accountant. He has written widely in the areas of the legal profession and equity and trusts, in particular, including six books in the LexisNexis Black and Silver series. Professor Dal Pont is also General Editor of Halsbury’s Laws of Australia, author of the New South Wales Solicitors Manual, and a regular columnist on legal ethics issues. His teaching involves professional responsibility, trusts and tax.

K F Mackie was a Senior Lecturer in law and Sub-Dean at the Law School, University of Tasmania. He is a consultant to the Tasmanian Law Reform Institute on succession law issues and was a member of the Former National Committee on Uniform Succession Laws. Ken has also taught at the University of Tasmania and the City University of Hong Kong. His main research interests are property law and succession. He is now a University Associate in the Faculty of Law, University of Tasmania.
