Details

The Licensing Act 2003 has introduced major reforms to licensing law and procedure. There is now a completely new scheme for licensing the sale and supply of alcohol, the provision of regulated entertainment and the provision of late night refreshment.

The Licensing Law Handbook is a practical, concise guide to the new law and procedures. It provides a detailed and clear explanation of the new system of licensing, including:

  • the nature of the various forms of authorisation for licensable activities under the Act
  • how to apply for an authorisation and the forms to use
  • operating schedules
  • how to object to an application
  • offences, closure powers, and appeals.

The Handbook also includes extracts from the Secretary of State's Guidance, model conditions, and a risk-assessment checklist.

The Licensing Law Handbook should be the first choice for any practitioner seeking up-to-date guidance on licensing practice.
