Details

While many books exist on the subject of merchant banking, or investment banking as it is known in the US, there are few publications which specifically address the subject in the Hong Kong context. It is therefore of great value both to outside professionals coming to work in Hong Kong, and to local students of banking and finance to have a book which explains in detail the major merchant banking products in Hong Kong. In writing this book, the authors have attempted to provide a thorough analysis of the main products and give an insight into their development locally.

The information provided in this book comes mainly from published sources. Many of these however are specialised publications and government reports which most readers would normally have neither the time nor the inclination to explore. Much practical information has also been provided by those active in the markets.

The authors have drawn on their extensive banking backgrounds and combined teaching experience to provide a practical insight into the development and workings of the Hong Kong merchant banking market.

This book places the Hong Kong market in the context of financial theory. The result is a book of value to professionals, academics and students of banking.
