This book is intended to provide a ready reference for lawyers and judges so that they can deal with the many complex and unforeseeable situations that arise during a civil trial with the benefit of a compilation of the available law on the subject. Each topic is presented and discussed under convenient headings to make it easy to find, even in the midst of the cut and thrust of trial.

The aim of the book is also to promote a more uniform approach to trial work and to settle some of the differing views that both judges and lawyers have held over the proper mode and method of trial. Where possible, the author has offered his own views on the proper interpretation and application of the relevant rules and practices and his own reconciliation of conflicting authorities.

This book is one which every court lawyer will find very helpful to have handy in court at all times.
