Details

The Tort Law of the People’s of the Republic of China came into force on 1 July 2010. Divided into 12 chapters and containing 92 articles, the new law sets out general and specific torts, types of liability (i.e individual, vicarious and third party), extent of liability (i.e joint and several), and types of remedies (i.e cessation of infringement and compensation to the victim).

Tort Law in China is the first and only book in English that provides a comprehensive discussion on each article of the PRC Tort Law, noting significant developments achieved by its enactment, drawing comparisons to relevant common law tort principles, and how certain parts of the law developed and what factors were considered in the drafting of provisions.
