About the Author

Paul J. Davidson

Paul J. Davidson, B.Eng., LL.B., LL.M., Ph.D. is a professor in the Department of Law, Carleton University where he teaches international economic law. He is a barrister and solicitor and member of the Bar of the Province of Ontario. He has published in the area of trade and investment, particularly in regards to Southeast Asia and APEC. He is chair of the Carleton Committee on Asian Studies (CAS), and an associate of the APEC Study Centre in Canada.

Professor Davidson has been a visiting fellow at the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore, and a research fellow in Canada-Southeast Asia Relations at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, Singapore. In addition, he has lectured in China on various aspects of Canadian law and international economic law.
