The book considers the basic and latest issues relating to the local employment law. It is also very suitable for employers and employees who want to knowmore about their rights or obligations in an employment relationship in Singapore.

Foreword by The Honourable the Chief Justice Chan Sek Keong, Chief Justice of Singapore

"I am very pleased to write the foreword to the third edition of this work, which was first published in 2005. In the first and second editions, the author was sufficiently modest about his work to say that the book was written for both a legally and non-legally trained audience. The fact that it has gone into this edition within a span of six years (the second edition was published in 2008) speaks well of its popularity among the general public as a comprehensive guide to employment law...

... I am confident that this new work will be well received as it provides in one convenient volume all the Singapore law on employment that lawyers, employers, employees and their trade unions will need to know for general purposes. I commend Ravi Chandran for bringing his textbook up to date".
