Details

It has been 15 years since the introduction of the Patents Act in 1994. Since then it has undergone many amendments, some major while others minor, as the patent system in Singapore is being fine tuned.

This second edition includes the changes to the Patents Act since 2005, as well as discussion on some of the important Singapore judgments on the landmark cases decided after 2005, namely:

FE Global Elexctronics Pte Ltd v. Trek Technology (Singapore ) Pte Ltd

First Currency Choice Pte Ltd v. Main-Line Corporate Holdings Ltd

Seiko Epson Corporation v. Sepom Technology Pte Ltd.

References to the above and other cases and commentary in relation to the various topics discussed are also included. Changes to the Patents (Amendment) Act 2008 and Patents (Amendment) Rules effected in 2006 and 2007 are reflected in the commentary.
